Legal Notice

Site identification, licensing, and liability information for the Rulezet platform.

1. Site Identification

Rulezet is an open-source project. The official instance is published at rulezet.org. Rulezet is also free software that anyone can deploy on their own infrastructure — a self-hosted instance is operated independently by whoever runs it, who is then the responsible publisher for that instance instead of the Rulezet project.

2. Publisher

The official instance is published and maintained by the Rulezet open-source project and its contributors, coordinated on GitHub at github.com/rulezet/rulezet-core. For formal legal correspondence regarding a specific instance, contact that instance's operator directly.

3. Hosting

Rulezet is self-hostable software; the hosting provider therefore depends on which instance you are using. Details for the official rulezet.org instance are available on request via the contact channels below.

4. Intellectual Property & Licensing

The Rulezet platform's source code is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL-3.0). You are free to use, study, modify, and redistribute it under the terms of that license.

Detection rules, bundles, and other content submitted by users remain the property of their original authors and are shared under the license each contributor selects for their own submission (shown on the rule's detail page). Rulezet itself claims no ownership over user-submitted rule content.

5. Content Disclaimer

Detection rules hosted on Rulezet are submitted by the community "as is," without warranty of any kind. Rulezet does not guarantee the accuracy, safety, or fitness for any particular purpose of any rule, and is not responsible for how rules are used. Always review and test detection content before deploying it in a production environment.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rulezet, its maintainers, and contributors shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the platform or any content hosted on it.

7. Privacy

Information on what personal data is collected and how it is used is available in our Privacy Policy.
